Visitors to Alderney should be aware that the National Health Service (NHS) of the UK do not operate on the island. All visitors are adviced to obtain health insurance cover for their stay. There is, however, a joint agreement with the UK allowing UK residents on short stay visits (less than 3 months)free access to emergency medical and dental treatment. Prescribed medicines, visits to a Doctor and the use of ambulances will require payment.

Alderney has one dental practice, two medical practices and a small hospital.

No vaccination certificates are required to enter Alderney.
